Cloth5 – Producing Quality eSports Coverage
Cloth5 is a League of Legends Blogs, News, and eSports site striving to bring you high-quality content in the most readable way. With the 2014 LCS Season off to a rapid start, we are looking for more writers to join our team and expand our standard of excellence. Are you passionate about League of Legends? Writer Responsibilities
Writers will be responsible for producing features, previews, recaps, and other written content to contribute to Cloth5’s eSports coverage. Realize that this is a commitment to producing consistent content in sync with tournaments and events as they are unfolding in real time. We expect writers to maintain a sense of professionalism in their work: This means timeliness, respect to deadlines, and respectful communication. It takes a team to create great content, just like it takes a team to win a game on Summoner’s Rift.
Positions
Cloth5 is currently in need of writers to cover GPL, LPL, and OGN events (as back-up to our current OGN coverage). We are looking for writers who have comprehensive knowledge of the game, possess strong written English skills, and maturity to meet deadlines.
- GPL Writer: Previews/Recaps and/or Features/Analysis
- LPL Writer: Previews/Recaps and/or Features/Analysis
- OGN Writer: Previews and/or Analysis

While we cannot disclose specifics at the moment, you will most likely be making money for your work with us.

Please include the following:
- Skype Information: For team coordination, we use Skype for Instant Messaging and Team Chats.
- BRIEF and RELEVANT Background Information: Name, Age, Country, eSports history – Please do not send resumes.
- One Writing Sample (~700 words – No more than 1,000 words): Please provide a writing sample that discusses the current meta in whichever scene you are applying to cover: GPL, LPL, or OGN – We are looking for writers who can tell good narratives, bringing together events like a “story,” not just listing off details of matches. This sample must be current, not something written at a previous time, and must be something that could be published immediately – So please polish, edit, and format before you send. Be yourself and show us your best!
Important: Any application that does not include the required information/writing sample will not be reviewed. Positions are competitive and will go to the best of the best, so show us what you’ve got!
Application Deadline
Applications for these positions are open from today through January 30, 2014. Applications received after this date will not be considered. However, if you don’t make it in time, don’t worry – More positions will be available in the future!
