We’ll be doing an event preview featuring all the teams competing in the Gamescom 2013 International Wildcard Qualifiers.
The International Wildcard
The tournament itself will consist of a robin round with the last team on the standings being eliminated. They then move to a single elimination setup until the Grand Finals, which will decide who goes on to the World Championships in Los Angeles. Here’s the schedule for Gamescom:

Team Immunity qualified into Gamescom by winning the Oceanic Season 3 Championships at PAX Australia, in which they only lost a single game. Most of the players on Immunity were old players from the NA server; starring Heavenz who had 2800 Elo by the end of Season 2, and had one of the most uncommon picks in the history of LoL esports in the finals: AD Lulu as a mid laner. With strong teamfighting and the ability to control their lanes well without the need of Elysia, Immunity will prove to be a suitable foe for our other competitors.
PaiN Gaming – Brazil

Support: Espeon
PaiN Gaming has always been a crowd favorite in Brazil, and they did not drop that in the Brazillian Championship (CBLoL), in which they had a smooth run even after losing out in the group stages to the #2 favorite CNB. They were able to comeback at CNB in the finals winning it 3-1. They are a team of players fueled by emotion similar like SK Gaming. There were huge plays from all the players throughout the championship, highlighting Kami’s awesome Gragas play. All that in combination with one of the most passionate and dedicated fan bases in the world makes PaiN Gaming one of the favorites for the finals.
Dark Passage – Turkey

ADC: Holyphoenix being replaced by Lethilion (Player of the Team Turquality BLUE, 2nd place at Turkish S3 Championship)
Support: Holythoth
Dark Passage qualified in style, winning the Turkish Season 3 Championship while only dropping a single game through the entire year. One of the most famous aspects about Dark Passage is their top laner: Fabulous. He is a very respected player in the Turkish scene. Even while looking so strong and experienced,their AD Carry player Holyphoenix is too young to participate so he’ll be swapped in with Lethilion. With a roster mixup at this stage in the qualifiers, it might throw Dark Passage of their game.
GamingGear.EU – CIS

GamingGear.EU qualified winning the Regional CIS Championships. Instead of drafting champions for a specific composition, GamingGear tends to counter-pick their lanes and create a snowball by being able to play as aggressive as they like in the early game. Hailing from Eastern Europe, GamingGear hopes that their experience together as a team will be able to carry them through the qualifiers.
Lyon Gaming – Latin America

And last but not least there’s Lyon Gaming, who won the Latin America North Qualifiers without dropping a single game, not even to the South champions LoLCave. They base off their strategies off of the Korean teams and are known to play on the highest mechanical levels. Drawing a spotlight to their duo lane, Lyon’s AD Carry Seeiya had an incredible run in the championship, having only 3 deaths in the entirety of the finals. However, some problems may arise if they don’t get a win past sooner than the 25 minute mark since their team compositions tend to rely on early game power champions who scale poorly into the lategame.

The International Wildcard
Também conhecido como apenas “gamescom” para alguns de nós.
Primeiramente gostariade introduzir o campeonato. Ele irá consistir em um Robin Round (Onde todos os times se enfrentam), e o time que ficar em último será eliminidado da competição. Este então procederá para um modelo de elimninação simples até as finais, que decidirão quem irá para o Mundial. Aqui está a agenda do evento:

O Time Immunity qualificou-se para a Gamescom ganhando o Campeonato da Season 3 da Oceania na PAX Austrália, no qual eles perderam apenas um jogo. A maioria dos jogadores do time eram jogadores antigos do servidor NA. Destacando o jogador Heavenz que alcançou 2800 de Elo no fim da Season 2 e utilizou um dos picks mais inesperados da hitória do LoL Competitivo nas finais do evento: Lulu AD Mid. Com grande experiência em teamfights e bons jogadores o time tem muito potencial!

A PaiN sempre foi uma favorita para os fãs Brasileiros, e não perderam esta fama no CBLoL, no qual tiveram uma passagem tranquila mesmo após a derrota contra a CNB na fase de grupos, eles tiveram sua vingança nas finais vencendo por 3 a 1. Este é um time muito afetado pelo calor do momento, podendo ser comparado muitas vezes à SK. Houveram jogadas interessantíssimas de todos os jogadores, mas principalmente do Mid Laner: Kami com seu Gragas. Tudo isso combinado com uma das torcidas mais apaixonadas do mundo torna a PaiN um dos grandes favoritos.
Dark Passage – Turquia

A Dark passage se qualificou em estilo, ganhando o Campeonato Turco da Season 3 e perdendo apenas 1 jogo duirante todo o ano. O aspecto mais famoso deste time é o carisma do jogador Faboulous (Top Laner), muito amado pela comunidade da Turquia. Apesar de aparentarem ser tão fortes, a equipe está desfalcada, um ods jogadores, o AD Carry: Holyphoenix é muito novo para jogar o campeonato e será substituído. Isso é um grande desfalque e com certeza dificultará o caminho de um time que tinha tudo para ganhar.
GamingGear.EU – CIS

A GamingGear.EU qualificou-se vencendo os regionais da CIS. Eles tendem contra-atacar as estratégias usadas contra eles, assim como os champions usados contra eles. É uma estratégia extremamente incomum nos dias de hoje, mas tem funcionado bem para eles, os deixando jogar agressivamente no Early game. Eles possuem muita sinergia e habilidades individuais, oque os faz grandes rivais para os outros participantes.
Lyon Gaming – Latin America

E, por último mas não menos importante, Lyon Gaming. Este time ganhou a Qualificatória do norte da américa latina sem perder um único jogo, nem mesmo para os campeões do sul, o time LoLCave. Eles baseiam suas estratégias nos times coreanos e possuem mecânica muito aguçada. Um destaque muito grande para a bot lane do time, o AD Carry do time morreu apenas 3 vezes durante as finais! Dependendo muito de habilidades individuais, o time parece vir com tudo para conquistar a vaga no Mundial!
O Que eu vejo:
Na maioria do tempo eu não gosto de fazer previsões, aleás, eu sou muito ruim nelas. Porém eu acho que seria interessante dar a minha opinião sobre as partidas. Entendo que seria muito bom ver a PaiN ganhando todas as partidas, porém eles não são o único time preparado para a competição. O time Dark Passage seria o meu favorito senão pelo desfalque, o que me deixa como favoritos: PaiN, Immunity e Lyon.
